The 1975 Fayetteville State baseball team, under the guidance of Head Coach Milton Armistead, etched its name into the annals of history with an exhilarating season that culminated in the team being crowned CIAA Co-Champions. With a commendable 6-3 conference record and an overall 13-10 mark, the Broncos showcased their prowess on the diamond.

At the helm was team captain and shortstop George Ellis, whose exceptional performance earned him the prestigious titles of All-CIAA and CIAA Most Valuable Player for the 1975 season. Ellis's leadership and skill were instrumental in driving the team to success.

The Broncos' batting lineup was a force to be reckoned with, led by freshman left fielder David Middleton and sophomore catcher Boysie Jackson. Middleton's impressive .425 batting average and Jackson's solid .338 were pivotal in securing the team's strong standing heading into tournament play. Right fielder Bobby Neal also made significant contributions with a .324 batting average, adding depth to the team's offensive capabilities.

Joe Tate, the right fielder from Gastonia, NC, demonstrated remarkable speed and agility on the bases. His standout performance included an astonishing seven stolen bases in a single game against Campbell College. Tate's total of 27 stolen bases after just 17 games highlighted his exceptional talent and added a dynamic edge to the Broncos' gameplay.

The 1975 Fayetteville State baseball team remains a celebrated chapter in the university's athletic history.
