Welcome to Fayetteville State University. We hope that your competition here is safe and enjoyable.
We currently have three staff members: Kenneth Lassiter, MS, LAT, ATC, Cameron Barfield, LAT, ATC, and Brionna Allen. There are three Team Physicians who are, Dr. Daniel McBrayer Lead Team Physician/Orthopedic, Dr. Jim Mergy Team Family/ General Medicine Physician, and Dr. Dennis Royal Team Chiropractor.
Our athletic training room is located in Felton J. Capel Arena in room 125.
Supplies which will be provided in your locker room and on the field or court are listed below. Should any members of your team require more moist hot packs than those provided to them we ask that an athletic trainer or student retrieve those hot packs from the training room for use in your team's locker room and then promptly return them to cut down on traffic flow in the training room. For electrical stimulation or ultrasound, please accompany your student-athlete to the athletic training room to provide the treatment.
A physician or physician's assistant, and X-ray will be available on the home team sideline for football. There will also be EMS available during the game. No physician or physician's assistant will be on-site or "on-call" for other sports. If non-emergency medical services are needed for a student-athlete, please see below for nearest medical centers. It is the visiting team's responsibility to transport that student-athlete for non-emergency treatment.
For football: There will be (4)10-gallon coolers of water and 1 ice chests on your sidelines which can be refilled as needed. If you require any assistance transporting supplies to your sideline from the bus parking lot, please call ahead. If you require any other provisions, please call ahead for inquiries of availability.
For volleyball and basketball: Towels will be provided on the court for use on the court cleanup. There will not be towels in the locker rooms or on the benches. There will also be a 10-gallon cooler of water and 1 ice chest on your bench.
**If your team is traveling without a certified athletic trainer, they must present a letter signed by their team's certified athletic trainer detailing what treatments and/or taping they require. Otherwise the treatment will not be provided.
**They must also provide their own taping supplies. **
