Junior forward Miles Whye brings size, championship experience, and a winning pedigree to the Fayetteville State men's basketball program. A native of Harlem, New York, the 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward joins the Broncos with a proven track record of success at the junior college level. Whye is pursuing a degree in Business and is expected to graduate in 2028.
Before arriving at Fayetteville State, Whye attended St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, New Jersey, graduating in 2022. He continued his basketball journey at the collegiate level, where he helped lead his team to an NJCAA Region 19 Championship and an NJCAA East District B Championship during the 2024-25 season. His strong play also earned him NJCAA All-Conference Team honors in 2025-26.
Whye credits Coach Jan Cocozziello, his high school and junior college coach, as his biggest athletic influence. More than a coach, Cocozziello served as a mentor and life coach who helped shape Whye's development both on and off the court. That guidance has played a significant role in his growth as a student-athlete.
Away from basketball, Whye enjoys listening to music and spending time recharging away from the game. Looking ahead, he plans to pursue entrepreneurship following the completion of his academic and athletic career, using the lessons learned through sports to build success in the business world.
Whye chose Fayetteville State to continue his collegiate basketball career and was drawn to the opportunity to compete at a high level while furthering his education. What stands out most about Fayetteville State is the energy surrounding the university and its athletics programs. As he begins his journey as a Bronco, Whye is excited to contribute to the team's success and embrace the opportunities that come with representing Fayetteville State University.
