Summary

Biography

Redshirt senior forward Joseph "Stixx" Allen III brings experience, versatility, and leadership to the Fayetteville State men's basketball program. A native of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, the 6-foot-6, 200-pound forward joins the Broncos after collegiate stops at Virginia Union University and Bowie State University. Allen is pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity and is expected to graduate in 2027.

Before arriving at Fayetteville State, Allen attended Frederick Douglass High School, where he established himself as one of the top players in the state. As a senior in 2022, he earned First Team All-Prince George's County honors and was selected to the Maryland All-State Third Team. His success at the high school level paved the way for a collegiate career highlighted by growth, perseverance, and memorable experiences.

One of Allen's most cherished basketball moments came when he competed in the NBA HBCU All-Star Classic, an opportunity that allowed him to showcase his talent among some of the top HBCU players in the country. He also recalls catching a reverse lob from half court as one of the most unforgettable plays of his athletic career.

Allen credits his mother, Michelle Allen, and his sister as his biggest influences. While he has benefited from a strong support system throughout his journey, he considers them his motivation and the driving force behind his success. Before games, he enjoys listening to Marvin Gaye and motivational messages to stay focused and mentally prepared for competition. A quote from J. Cole serves as a constant source of inspiration, reminding him to remain resilient through life's challenges.

Away from basketball, Allen enjoys discovering new music, playing video games, trying new foods, fishing, and watching anime. Looking ahead, he hopes to continue his basketball career professionally or pursue opportunities in network administration and cybersecurity.

Allen chose Fayetteville State because it immediately felt like home. After visiting campus and connecting with the people, culture, and atmosphere, he knew it was the place where he wanted to finish his collegiate career. What makes Fayetteville State special to him is the family-oriented environment that supports student-athletes both on and off the court. As a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Allen embraces leadership and service while striving to leave a lasting impact on the Broncos program.
