GREENSBORO, NC -- Fayetteville State University had a strong showing at the 2025 Aggie Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC on April 18-19. Several athletes finished in the top 10 in their respective events.
In the Women's 800 Meters, Brenda Cheboi secured 7th place with a time of 2:16.71, while Ashley Bell finished 11th with a time of 2:18.57. In the Women's 1500 Meters, Brenda Cheboi again performed well, finishing 12th with a time of 5:01.20.
The Women's 4 x 100 Relay team, consisting of Jayla Williams, Ziyah Etchison, Malaysia Barber, and Mikalyn Chambers, finished 8th with a time of 47.82. The Women's 4 x 400 Relay team, featuring Sierrah Matthews, Malaysia Barber, Brenda Cheboi, and Jeaneva Golden, finished 7th with a time of 3:56.49.
In field events, Sheree Wright placed 5th in the Women's High Jump with a mark of 1.60m, and Domanique Knowles finished 7th with a mark of 1.55m. In the Women's Long Jump, Abraonna Williams achieved 4th place with a mark of 5.91m, and Mikalyn Chambers finished 7th with a mark of 5.85m.
In the Women's Triple Jump, Domanique Knowles secured 9th place with a mark of 11.93m. Aaliyah Whyte had a notable performance in the Women's Shot Put, finishing 4th with a mark of 13.30m, and also placed 10th in both the Women's Discus (39.04m) and Women's Hammer (43.89m). Paige Simmons-Norris finished 8th in the Women's Javelin with a mark of 30.06m.
Overall, Fayetteville State's athletes demonstrated strong performances across multiple events, showcasing their preparation for the upcoming CIAA Outdoor Championship to be held May 2-3 in Durham, NC at the Durham County Stadium.
