Faith Kiplimo Recognized as CIAA Track Athlete of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) recognized Fayetteville State sophomore Faith Kiplimo, a Nursing major from Eldoret, Kenya, as the CIAA Track Athlete of the Week following her dominant performance at the Golden Bulls Invitational.

Kiplimo was a standout force on the track, capturing victories in both the 1500 meters and the 800 meters to lead the Broncos' distance squad. She highlighted the meet by winning the 1500 meters in 4:44.89, spearheading a Fayetteville State sweep of the top four finishing positions in the event. Kiplimo later returned to the track and delivered another first‑place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.75, showcasing her range, strength, and competitive poise across multiple distance events.

Kiplimo's two individual wins played a key role in Fayetteville State's strong showing at the meet and cemented her as one of the top distance performers of the weekend across the CIAA.

Fayetteville State will turn its focus to championship season as the outdoor track and field team prepares to compete at the CIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, set for May 1–2 in Petersburg, VA. Live results and event information will be available at fsubroncos.com/gameday.
