Biography
Sierrah Matthews is a dedicated track and field athlete specializing in the 400m and 800m events. Born on December 19, 2002, Sierrah has lived in various places but calls North Carolina home. She graduated from New Kent High School in 2021 after attending four different high schools. Currently a junior at Fayetteville State University, she is majoring in Cybersecurity.
Sierrah's high school track career was marked by impressive achievements, including being nationally ranked and setting records in multiple events. She has run everything from the 100m to the 800m, with standout performances such as a 54.3-second split in the 4x400m relay at the Penn Relays and a 1:13.58 in the 500m at the Virginia Showcase, where she was ranked 7th in the nation. She is a three-time indoor state champion in the 300m and 500m dashes and has competed in New Balance Nationals.
Outside of athletics, Sierrah has a hidden talent for writing poems and enjoys hanging out with friends and reading. Her career goal is to become an ethical hacker, leveraging her cybersecurity education. Sierrah is deeply influenced by her faith, considering God her best friend and provider. Her most memorable sports experiences include winning championships, and she is grateful for the opportunity to be at Fayetteville State University, even though it wasn't her initial choice.
