Biography
Mikalyn Chambers, a dynamic track and field athlete specializing in the long jump and triple jump, stands at 5'2" and hails from Lancaster, California. A graduate of Lancaster High School in 2022, Mikalyn made a significant impact in her high school career, earning the title of Freshman of the Year in 2019, becoming a two-time All-American Junior Olympian, and securing the #1 spot in the SoCal Regional Junior Olympics. She still holds the record for long jump and triple jump at her high school.
Currently a junior at Fayetteville State University, Mikalyn is majoring in Chemistry and has transferred from Lane College. Her college bests include a 60m time of 7.98 seconds, a 200m time of 26.55 seconds, a high jump of 1.38m (4'6.25"), a long jump of 5.57m (18'3.25"), and a triple jump of 11.49m (37'8.5").
Mikalyn's future aspirations include becoming an OB/GYN Physician Assistant, a goal she is determined to achieve by leveraging her talent in track and field. Her mother, who has been a pillar of strength and inspiration, has greatly influenced her, teaching her how to navigate both struggles and happiness with grace. Mikalyn's favorite pastime activities include reading and watching anime, and she has a hidden talent for doing backflips.
Her most memorable sports experience was winning the league championship in high school, a testament to her dedication and hard work. Mikalyn chose Fayetteville State University because it offered her the best opportunity to further her education and athletic career. She is committed to using her skills in track and field to help achieve her career goals and make a positive impact in her community.
