Graduate student point guard Tyler Gill brings championship experience, leadership, and a winning pedigree to the Fayetteville State men's basketball program. A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Gill joined the Broncos after beginning his collegiate career at Towson University. The veteran floor general is pursuing a degree in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (BIDA) and is expected to graduate in 2027.
Gill attended Trinity Academy, where he established himself as one of the top players in program history. During his high school career, he earned Conference Player of the Year honors, was named All-State, collected three All-Conference selections, became the school's all-time leader in assists and steals, surpassed the 1,000-point mark, and helped lead his team to a 56-19 record as a varsity starter.
At the collegiate level, Gill has continued to contribute to winning programs. He has been part of four regular-season conference championship teams, capturing one title at Towson in 2022 and three consecutive championships at Fayetteville State in 2024, 2025, and 2026. His most memorable athletic moment came last season when the Broncos won the conference championship.
Gill credits his parents, Lisa and Melvin Gill, as his biggest athletic influences, pointing to their support and guidance throughout his journey. He has also overcome adversity during his career, battling through two significant injuries and adjusting to changes in his jump shot, experiences that strengthened his resilience and determination.
Away from basketball, Gill enjoys spending time with family and friends while watching new television shows, movies, and documentaries. He is also committed to serving others through his nonprofit organization, Gillstrong, which he uses as a platform to give back to the community and make a positive impact beyond the game.
As one of the veteran leaders of the Broncos program, Gill looks to continue building on a career defined by perseverance, growth, and success while helping Fayetteville State compete for more championships.
