Biography

Travon Cooper II is a dynamic junior guard/forward for the Fayetteville State University men’s basketball team, known for his versatility, leadership, and clutch performances. A Detroit native and Cass Tech graduate, Cooper helped lead his high school team to its first-ever state championship in 2023, earning Second Team All-State honors and back-to-back district and regional titles in 2022 and 2023. He also excelled in cross country, earning PSL First Team honors.

At the collegiate level, Cooper made an immediate impact, earning CIAA All-Rookie First Team honors during the 2023–24 season. One of his most memorable moments came in the CIAA tournament when he helped FSU upset Winston-Salem State—a game where the Broncos defied expectations and shocked the league.

Off the court, Cooper is majoring in Business Management and plans to continue his basketball career or pursue opportunities in the business world. He’s ambidextrous, plays the trumpet, and enjoys spending time with family, listening to music, and gaming. He credits his mom and sisters as his biggest inspirations, always pushing him to be his best.

Cooper chose Fayetteville State for its vibrant culture, supportive community, and the opportunity to play under Coach Hoehn. His commitment to service is evident through his volunteer work with the Reggie McKenzie Foundation, Belle Isle Clean Up, and Margaret Willis Elementary.
