Sophomore point guard Chandler "CK" Kennedy brings quickness, leadership, and a championship mindset to the Fayetteville State men's basketball program. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, the 5-foot-8, 150-pound guard continues to develop as one of the Broncos' talented young backcourt players. Kennedy is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Fitness Management and is expected to graduate in 2029.
Before arriving at Fayetteville State, Kennedy starred at Carmel Christian School, where he earned NCISAA First Team All-State honors and was recognized as a Charlotte Observer Player of the Week. His success at the high school level helped establish him as a dynamic playmaker capable of impacting the game on both ends of the floor.
Kennedy credits his parents, Nikita and Eric Kennedy, as his biggest athletic influences. Their guidance and support have played a major role in his development as both a student and an athlete. Before games, Kennedy focuses through prayer, music, self-talk, and rest, using a combination of mental and spiritual preparation to compete at his best.
One of Kennedy's fondest sports memories came from being part of Fayetteville State's CIAA Championship team, an experience that reinforced the value of teamwork and championship culture. He also ranks helping his high school team reach the state playoffs among the most memorable moments of his athletic career.
Away from basketball, Kennedy enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring nature. Looking ahead, he hopes to play professional basketball while also pursuing a career as a physical therapist, combining his passion for athletics with helping others achieve their health and performance goals.
Kennedy chose Fayetteville State because it provided the opportunity to continue his education while competing at the collegiate level. He values the university's supportive environment and believes Fayetteville State offers the ideal place to grow academically, athletically, and personally. As a member of the Broncos family, he embraces the opportunity to contribute to a program built on excellence, teamwork, and community.
