Fayetteville, NC — Fayetteville State University Athletics proudly participated in the CIAA SAAC Mental Health Walk Initiative today, joining institutions across the conference in a unified effort to raise awareness and support for student-athlete mental health.
Under the leadership of Senior Woman Administrator Dr. Inez Turner, all 12 of FSU's sponsored athletic programs came together to PAUSE for the cause—stepping away from their daily routines to walk the campus with purpose. The initiative served as a powerful demonstration of strength, solidarity, and commitment to mental wellness and community building.
"This walk was more than symbolic," said Dr. Turner. "It was a statement that our student-athletes are not alone. We are committed to creating a culture where mental health is prioritized, and where every Bronco feels supported."
The walk was part of a larger conference-wide movement organized by the CIAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), designed to promote mental health awareness and encourage open dialogue among student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
Fayetteville State Athletics continues to champion holistic student-athlete development, recognizing that mental wellness is essential to success both on and off the field.
