FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville State University student-athletes achieved a record-setting academic milestone during the Spring 2025 semester, posting an all-time high 3.42 overall grade point average (GPA), the highest in the department's history over the past decade.
A total of 151 student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the semester. Of those, 91 achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above, and 32 earned a perfect 4.0. The achievement surpasses the previous record of 3.33 set in Fall 2024, continuing a trend of academic excellence among Broncos' student-athletes.
"This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, academic support staff, and faculty," said Director of Athletics
Anthony Bennett. "We are proud of the culture of excellence that continues to grow at Fayetteville State."
Team GPAs for the Spring 2025 semester include:

- Men's Cross Country – 3.58
- Softball – 3.53
- Women's Cross Country – 3.48
- Men's Basketball – 3.37
- Women's Volleyball – 3.31
- Men's Golf – 3.30
- Cheerleading – 3.21
- Football – 3.10
- Women's Track & Field – 3.10
- Women's Basketball – 3.04
