Talia Trotter commented on her mindset during the game, saying, "Just listening to the game plan Coach Reece had for us and having more intensity this game." Coach Tyreece Brown reflected on the team's progress, stating, "We are progressing. One thing I harp on them is that we are going to get everybody's best game. Of course, we are the defending champs, so everybody is going to play us tough and play us better. As they rise on us, we have to keep rising."
