Fayetteville State University Athletics

Taleah Stephens, a 6’1" stretch forward from Hartsville, South Carolina, is currently a junior at Fayetteville State University, majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. Born on December 17, Taleah graduated from Holly Springs High School in 2021 and previously attended Campbell University. Despite facing injuries during her junior and senior years of high school, Taleah remains dedicated to her basketball career, with aspirations to play professionally and later become an ordained minister and youth mentor.

Her mother, Tamala Gibson, a graduate of N.C. State University, is her greatest influence, instilling in her the values of faith and perseverance. Her father, Marion Stephens III, who graduated from S.C. State University, has also been a supportive figure in her life. Taleah chose FSU for its family atmosphere and the opportunity to continue playing basketball.

In addition to her athletic pursuits, Taleah has a hidden talent for singing and preaching. She enjoys spending time with her family and values the support they have always provided. Her career goals include playing professional basketball and eventually retiring to focus on ministry and youth mentorship. Taleah’s favorite pastime activities include singing and engaging in community service, reflecting her commitment to both her faith and her community.
