Tamarah Lowery has brought experience and determination to the Fayetteville State Broncos softball program as a senior pitcher. Wearing jersey number 17, the Red Springs, North Carolina native stands at 5’3” and commands the circle with her left-handed delivery. A transfer from Fayetteville Tech, Lowery has embraced her role at FSU, quickly becoming a trusted arm and a positive presence in the dugout.
In her first season with the Broncos (2025), Lowery appeared in nine games, starting seven, and posted a 3.45 ERA over 46.2 innings pitched. She recorded 26 strikeouts, demonstrating her ability to challenge hitters and keep her team in games. Her durability was evident as she completed five games, a testament to her competitive spirit and work ethic. Opponents hit just .276 against her, and she showed poise under pressure throughout the season.
Before her collegiate career, Lowery starred at Hoke County High School, where she earned recognition as one of North Carolina’s top pitchers, ranking second in the state in strikeouts during her senior year—a memory she still cherishes. Off the field, she is pursuing a degree in Sports and Fitness Management, driven by her passion for athletics and her desire to give back to the game. She already works with younger players, providing pitching lessons and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
Lowery’s greatest inspiration is her mother, whom she describes as “the hardest-working person I know,” crediting her for unwavering support and resilience. At FSU, her best experience has been the camaraderie with her teammates, who welcomed her as a transfer and quickly became family. On game days, Lowery starts with a prayer, focuses on maintaining a positive attitude, and listens to music to get into game mode.
Away from the diamond, Tamarah enjoys drawing and crocheting—talents that showcase her creativity and patience. After graduation, she plans to continue working in the sports field and return to school to further her education. With her leadership, pitching skill, and commitment to growth, Tamarah Lowery is a vital part of the Broncos’ success story.
