Freshman third baseman Madison Boone begins her collegiate career at Fayetteville State University as one of the Broncos’ most promising young talents. A native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Boone arrives on campus as a polished and competitive infielder following a standout high school career at Paint Branch High School. During her four years as a varsity starter, she earned MCPS 4A North First Team All-Division honors and was recognized as an MCPS All-County Honorable Mention, establishing herself as a consistent offensive and defensive presence.
Standing 5’4” and batting and throwing right-handed, Boone brings quick reflexes, reliable hands, and a strong arm to the hot corner. Her natural feel for the game, paired with her steady work ethic, positions her to make an immediate impact for the Broncos as she begins her freshman season wearing jersey No. 21.
Off the field, Boone is pursuing a degree in Political Science, a major she chose to better understand how laws and policies shape communities and everyday life. Her long-term goal is to work in Public Administration, specifically with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she hopes to contribute to more equitable and supportive housing policies.
Boone credits her parents as her greatest inspiration. Their resilience, humility, and commitment to helping others have shaped her values and fueled her drive to succeed both academically and athletically. Their influence, she says, keeps her grounded and confident in pursuing her goals.
Her transition to life at FSU began on a high note. Her favorite experience so far has been making new friends during the Bronco Boost Summer Program, which helped her build early connections and feel at home within the campus community. On gameday, Boone prepares by praying and listening to music—her way of settling into a focused and motivated mindset before taking the field.
Outside of softball and academics, Boone enjoys baking and experimenting with new recipes, a hobby that brings creativity and calm into her busy schedule.
With her determination, strong foundation of values, and impressive athletic background, Madison Boone enters her freshman season ready to grow, compete, and contribute to the continuing success of Broncos softball.
