Maxton, NC (March 6, 2025) – The Fayetteville State Broncos (0-9 overall) fell to the UNC Pembroke Braves (8-15 overall) with a final score of 11-3 on Thursday at Purnell Swett High School.
UNC Pembroke took an early lead, scoring seven runs in the first inning. The Braves' offensive surge was highlighted by key hits from Kylie Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, and Zoe Godard, who doubled and drove in two runs.
Fayetteville State's Amber Savage (0-4) took the loss, allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on 11 hits over 4.1 innings. Despite the tough start, the Broncos showed resilience in the fifth inning, scoring three runs. A'Leah Wilson led the charge with a two-RBI double, finishing the game 1-for-1.
