RALEIGH, NC -- The Fayetteville State Broncos faced a challenging game on Friday, falling to the Lincoln (PA) Lions with a final score of 13-1. Despite the tough loss, freshman Xztashya Porter shone brightly, going 1-for-2 with a home run and an RBI.
The Broncos found themselves trailing 2-0 early in the game. However, they managed to put a run on the board in the second inning when Porter hit a leadoff home run off senior Tia Brown. Unfortunately, that was the only run the Broncos could muster, as Lincoln (PA) continued to dominate, adding 11 more runs to secure their victory.
Throughout the game, Fayetteville State's pitchers faced 29 Lincoln (PA) hitters, allowing four ground balls and two fly balls while striking out four. Porter led the Broncos offensively with her home run and RBI. On the other side, Lincoln (PA) was powered by junior Richardson, who went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI. Brown led the Lions' pitching staff, delivering five innings of one-run ball to seal the win.
