BLUEFIELD, W.Va. —
Jack McCarthy led Fayetteville State with a consistent three-round performance, finishing at 224 (+14) to guide the Broncos to a ninth-place finish at the Bluefield State Intercollegiate. The team posted rounds of 321, 307, and 300 for a total of 928 (+88).
Bluefield State won the event with a score of 859 (+19), followed by Bluefield State B at 875 (+35) and West Liberty at 884 (+44).
McCarthy opened with a 75 (+5) in Round 1, highlighted by birdies on holes 11 and 18. He followed with a 73 (+3) in Round 2, where he recorded a birdie on hole 3 and an eagle on hole 11. In Round 3, McCarthy posted a 76 (+6), notching birdies on holes 2, 3, and 13.
This event marked the final tournament of Fayetteville State's fall schedule. The Broncos will return to competition in the spring season.
