CARY, NC -- Fayetteville State University claimed the team title at the
SAS HBCU Invitational, finishing first among the other Division II programs with a three-round total of
871 (+31). The Broncos posted rounds of
290, 295, and 286, steadily improving each day to hold off
Kentucky State (+40) and
Livingstone (+51).
Senior Jack McCarthy led the field and earned medalist honors, finishing even par (E) with rounds of 69, 71, and 70 for a total of 210. McCarthy recorded 11 birdies across the tournament, including four in Round 1 (holes 4, 7, 8, 18), three in Round 2 (holes 3, 15, 18), and four in Round 3 (holes 1, 10, 11, 16), showcasing his ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Allan Terrazas tied for second place with a total of 214 (+4), contributing rounds of 69, 75, and 70. Patricio Ramirez, competing as an individual, finished 13th with a 226 (+16). Sutton Dreier placed 14th at 227 (+17), and Landon Cabingas rounded out the team with a 15th-place finish at 233 (+23).
