GAME 2 | Winston-Salem 11, Fayetteville State 3
WINSTON-SALEM, NC --The Fayetteville State Broncos struggled on Friday, falling to the Winston-Salem Rams (5-18, 4-4 CIAA) by final score of 11-3 in the final game of the doubleheader.
Hana Mills (4-3) got the ball to start for Fayetteville State (7-17, 1-7 CIAA) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Broncos were trailing 3-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Treja Patterson came across to score the lone run of the inning for Fayetteville State and get them on the board.
The Broncos deficit expanded to 9-1 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into that deficit in the fifth inning. Fayetteville State picked up a couple on a two-run triple from Xztashya Porter, which tightened the Rams lead to 9-3. The ballgame ended with that fifth inning rally falling short.
