BELMONT, N.C. --The Fayetteville State Broncos struggled on Saturday, falling to the Belmont Abbey Crusaders by final score of 10-3.
Kevana Deberry (1-2 overall) got the ball to start for Fayetteville State (4-7 overall) and took the loss.
Xztashya Porter led the way offensively for the Broncos, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame with a double and two RBI. Angelica Locklear furnished a standout performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 5-0, the Broncos first put runs on the board in the third inning. Fayetteville State scored three runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Porter. The Broncos were unable to get any closer, as Belmont Abbey added five runs to their tally on the way to a 10-3 final.
