Fayetteville, NC – FSU Softball is set to travel to Mt. Olive, NC to face off against the UMO Trojans in a doubleheader, on Thursday, Mar. 14. Game time begins at 3 pm for game one and 5 pm for game two.

About the Broncos
The Broncos are 4-8 in non-conference play. In their most recent doubleheader on Mar. 2 vs Belmont Abbey, the Broncos fell short in both games (Game One, L 3-10) (Game Two, L 5-6).
In game one, the Broncos struggled on Saturday, falling to the Belmont Abbey Crusaders by a final score of 10-3.
Kevana Deberry (1-2 overall) got the ball to start for Fayetteville State (4-7 overall) and took the loss.
Xztashya Porter led the way offensively for the Broncos, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame with a double and two RBI.
Angelica Locklear furnished a standout performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.
In game two, the Broncos got a boost from freshman
Xztashya Porter, who totaled three hits in a 6-5 loss to the Belmont Abbey Crusaders Saturday.
Sophomore
Hannah Mills (2-1) got the ball to start for Fayetteville State (4-8 overall) and took the loss.
Porter's three-hit day led the Broncos offensively. Junior
Laniyah Bethea compiled a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Sophomore
Angelica Locklear also chipped in for Fayetteville State, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding a home run and two RBI.
About the Trojans
The Trojans split their most recent doubleheader against Catawba on Feb. 25, losing game one 0-8 and then collecting a 9-4 victory in game two.
In game one, the Trojans had senior Hannah Killough surrender seven runs on six hits with four strikeouts and three walks. Junior Callie Thornton entered and yielded one run on three hits with one strikeout in 1.2 innings of work.
In game two, UMO gained the lead in the third inning. Freshman McKenzie Millard reached base on a single to center field before fellow freshman Laci Best hit a two-run homer to left center, her fifth of the season, 2-0. Senior Carly Curcio hit a two-run homer to extend the lead, to 4-0.
UMO totaled three runs on four hits, highlighted by a three-run shot by freshman Kayla Rudd, her first career homer, to take a 9-2 advantage.
The score remained at 9 for the Trojans and Catawba added two more runs moving their score to 4.
