GAME 1 | Coker 15, Fayetteville State 1
FAYETTEVILLE, NC --The Fayetteville State Broncos had a tough showing on Saturday, falling to the Coker Cobras 15-1 despite the efforts of freshman Camryn Alexander, who went 1-for-2.
Sophomore Jameyah Mars (0-1) started and took the loss in the circle for Fayetteville State (0-1). Madie Andrews led the Cobras (1-0 overall) pitching staff, throwing five innings of one-run ball.
Alexander led the way offensively for the Broncos, going 1-for-2 in the ballgame.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Broncos were trailing 13-0 in the fourth inning when they first put runs on the board. Freshman Xztashya Porter came across to score the lone run of the inning for Fayetteville State and get them on the board. The Broncos were unable to get any closer, as Coker added two runs to their tally on the way to a 15-1 final.
