FAYETTEVILLE, NC --The Fayetteville State Broncos had a tough showing on Saturday, falling to the Coker Cobras (2-0 overall) by final score of 8-1.
Freshman Camryn Alexander (0-1) started and took the loss in the circle for Fayetteville State (0-2).
Offensively, the Broncos were led by sophomore Angelica Locklear, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a double and an RBI. Freshman Xztashya Porter put together a standout effort as well, going 1-for-4 with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 5-0, the Broncos first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Fayetteville State got on the board thanks to Locklear's RBI double with two outs. The Broncos were unable to get any closer, as Coker added three runs to their tally on the way to an 8-1 final.
