DUNCAN, S.C. -- Hannah Mills was dealing on Saturday, hurling a four-hit shutout to lead the Fayetteville State Broncos past the Tuskegee (4-6 overall) Golden Tigers 4-0.
Mills (1-0) went the distance for Fayetteville State (1-4 overall), giving up four hits, walking one and striking out eight.
At the plate, the Broncos were paced by Camryn Alexander, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a double and two RBI. Xztashya Porter furnished a noteworthy performance as well, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Sydney Jackson also contributed for Fayetteville State, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Broncos took the lead for good in the fifth, scoring for the first time in the inning. Fayetteville State plated two runs off of Tuskegee pitching, one of which was driven in on a run-scoring double off the bat of Alexander.
The Broncos also added runs in the sixth and seventh innings on the way to the 4-0 victory.
