Jameyah Mars (6-2) got the ball to start for Fayetteville State (15-18, 10-6 CIAA) and took the loss.
Offensively, the Broncos were led by Steele, who went 1-for-2 on the day with an RBI. Angelica Locklear compiled a standout day at the plate as well, going 2-for-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 14-0, the Broncos first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Fayetteville State got an RBI single from Steele, scoring Morgan Jackson from third base. The ballgame ended with that fifth inning rally falling short.
