ELIZABETH CITY, NC --The Fayetteville State Broncos were not able to score a run against Lincoln (PA) pitcher Chloe Foster on Thursday, during the CIAA Softball Round-up, and were shut out 3-0 by the Lions (9-9 overall, 1-0 CIAA).
Senior pitcher Braynka Brown (0-6) got the ball to start for Fayetteville State (5-14 overall, 0-1 CIAA) and took the loss. The right-hander went four innings, giving up one run on three hits.
In the batter's box, the Broncos were led by Olivia Jackson, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a double and a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Fayetteville State managed one chance with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position. The Broncos last got a runner on third in the fourth, when Angelica Locklear made it 60 feet away from scoring with one out.
