GAME 2 | Fayetteville State 8, Livingstone 0
FAYETTEVILLE, NC --Junior Braynka Brown was dealing on Wednesday, hurling a three-hit shutout to lead the Fayetteville State Broncos over the Livingstone Blue Bears 8-0.
Brown (5-5) went the distance for Fayetteville State (12-12, 7-1), giving up three hits, walking one and striking out nine.
Offensively, the Broncos were paced by Brown, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a double and an RBI. Sophomore Kyra Mitchell put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Senior Angel Johnson also contributed for Fayetteville State, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding two RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Broncos took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Fayetteville State got an RBI single from Mitchell, scoring freshman Olivia Jackson from second base.
The Broncos then tacked on runs in four more innings, with their biggest output coming in the second when they scored four times. The big hit in that inning was a one-run groundout off the bat of Johnson.
