FAYETTEVILLE, NC --The Fayetteville State Broncos had a tough showing on Friday, falling to the Claflin Panthers (15-12, 13-0 CIAA) by final score of 11-3.
BreAnna Steele (6-9) started and took the loss in the circle for Fayetteville State (12-15, 7-4 CIAA).
Morgan Jackson led the way offensively for the Broncos, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame with a double. Brianna Crosby furnished a standout performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Broncos first put runs on the board in the first inning. Fayetteville State put together a three-run frame, culminating in a run-scoring single from Crosby. The Broncos were unable to hold the lead, as Claflin scored 10 times over the remaining five innings to grab the 11-3 win.
