Results

Fayetteville, NC - The Fayetteville State University women's tennis team picked up a 9-0 conference win against Johnson C. Smith University on Thursday afternoon from the tennis courts at Capel Arena.

Sophomore Ines Nieves teamed with junior LeJacquelyn Artis to defeat Jennifer Lee and Brittany Laws 8-3 at the number one doubles flight. Artis would go on to defeat Laws 6-0, 6-3 at the number three singles position.

Sophomore Chekimbrell Jefferson and freshman Samantha Meeks won 8-0 at the number three doubles flight due to a forfeit by JCSU. Jefferson also won her singles flight in the same fashion.

The Lady Broncos dominated, winning every set versus the Lady Golden Bulls. Nieves defeated Lee 6-3, 6-2 at the number one singles position. The Lady Broncos' improve to 7-4 for the season and remain unbeaten at 7-0 in the CIAA.

Fayetteville State will host the Lady Trojans of Virginia State University on Saturday, March 29th. Both teams are undefeated in the conference. The first serve at Capel Arena is slated for 1 pm.
