Wingate, NC - The Fayetteville State University women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to Wingate University Wednesday afternoon at the Wingate University tennis facility.

Sophomore Ines Nieves won her singles match against Kara Stasikelis (6-2, 6-4). Nieves and her double's partner junior LeJacquelyn Artis pushed Wingate's Hollyn Alberghini and Shawn Kindley to the limit with an 8-8 draw in the initial set. The Lady Bronco duo dropped the extra set 11-9. No other FSU players were able to grasp a victory. Fayetteville State falls to 0-3 for the season.

The Lady Broncos head to Hickory, NC to face Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday, February 23rd at 1:00 pm. FSU opens Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play Thursday, March 6th, hosting Bowie State University. The first serve is scheduled to take place at 1:00 pm from the Capel Arena tennis facility.
