LADY BRONCOS TO PARTICIPATE IN MID-ATLANTIC TENNIS REGIONAL

Fayetteville State University's women tennis team will travel to Savannah, Georgia to participate in the NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic Regional beginning on Thursday, May 3rd and concluding on Friday, May 4th. The winner of the regional advances to the NCAA Division II Tennis Championships Round of 16 on May 9-12 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Fayetteville will battle host Armstrong Atlantic State University (25-0), the Peach Belt Conference Champions and the No. 2 ranked in the latest ITA Division II Poll. ASSU women's tennis team has hosted the Mid-Atlantic for eight consecutive years. The first round match between the two schools is schedule to begin on the campus ASSU at 9:00 a.m. Fayetteville State is seeded 8th in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The Lady Broncos (19-4) are the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) champions and winners of five of the last six league championships.

Other teams in the Mid-Atlantic Regional pits No. 4 seed Georgia College and State University (20-7) against No.5 ranked Francis Marion University (15-7), both Peach Belt conference members, at 11:00 a.m. GCSU is ranked 17th and Francis Marion is ranked 16th in the Division II ITF Poll.
