Ettrick, VA - Fayetteville State University's top seeded doubles team had little trouble in winning the 6th Annual CIAA Women's Tennis Doubles Championship at Virginia State University's Tennis Courts.
The sweep give FSU a commanding point spread as they move into the singles competition Thursday, April 21. "This is a big moment for us. This is the first step in returning the tennis title back where it should be...at Fayetteville State." said Elorine Hill, the 2006 CIAA Coach of the Year.
Ines Nieves, the 2007 Player of the Year, and her doubles partner LeJacquelyn Artis started the sweep with their 8-2 first round win over No. 8 seed Lauren Lee/Pam Wike of Elizabeth City State.
