Senior outfielder A’Leah Wilson enters the 2026 season as an experienced and dynamic contributor to the Fayetteville State softball program. A native of Oakland, California, Wilson stands 5’3” and bats and throws right-handed. After beginning her academic path at Guilford Technical Community College, she transferred to Fayetteville State and has become a steady presence for the Broncos both on the field and in the dugout.
Wilson is majoring in Sports & Fitness Management, a field she chose so she can continue working with athletes even after her own playing career ends. Her goal is to build a career in sports facility management, using her passion for athletics to create supportive environments for future competitors. Her drive is fueled by her greatest inspiration, Rickey Henderson, whose rise from poverty to baseball legend motivates her to chase success with resilience and confidence.
In the 2025 season, Wilson made meaningful strides in her offensive production, finishing the year with a .333 batting average, collecting 12 hits, 10 runs scored, 1 double, and 4 walks in 36 at-bats. She was a consistent presence on the basepaths, successfully stealing 10 bases, including a season-high 2 steals against Carolina on March 13. She recorded a season-high 2 hits twice—most notably on March 28 against Winston-Salem State—and posted a personal best 2 RBIs on March 6 at UNC Pembroke.
Defensively, Wilson appeared in 23 games and recorded 19 putouts and one assist, finishing with a .870 fielding percentage. Her strongest defensive outing came on April 5 against Livingstone, where she tallied 3 putouts and 1 assist.
Off the field, Wilson is known for her fun and unexpected talent—she can juggle, a skill that mirrors her balance, discipline, and adaptability. Her best experience at Fayetteville State has been forming close bonds with her teammates, who she says have become sisters to her throughout her journey.
On gameday, Wilson prepares by getting into a focused, motivated mindset—listening to music and grounding herself mentally before stepping onto the field.
With her determination, athletic growth, and commitment to a future in sports management, A’Leah Wilson continues to be a valuable member of the Broncos softball program and a strong example of leadership and purpose as she progresses through her senior year.
