Xztashya Porter, a junior at Fayetteville State University, plays 3rd base and utility for the Broncos softball team, proudly wearing jersey #4. Standing at 5'3", this right-handed batter and thrower hails from Whiteville, NC, and attended Whiteville High School. Majoring in Biology, Xztashya has been a standout player since her sophomore year, earning the MVP Award, Players' Choice Award, and Academic Excellence Award in 2024.
In the 2024 season, Xztashya posted impressive stats, leading the team with a .383 batting average and a 1.032 OPS over 35 games. She recorded 44 hits, 8 doubles, 2 triples, 5 home runs, and 26 RBIs, ranking first on the team in batting average, OPS, hits, home runs, and RBIs. Off the field, Xztashya enjoys crafting beaded jewelry for phones, a hobby she finds relaxing and creatively fulfilling.
Born on February 27th, Xztashya has always had a passion for science, which led her to choose Biology as her major. She plans to pursue a master's or PhD after graduation, aiming for a career in research or academia. Inspired by her late coach, Coach Kevin, who introduced her to competitive softball and instilled in her the confidence to excel, Xztashya strives to be her best every day, cherishing the lessons he taught her.
Her greatest inspiration, Coach Kevin, passed away in July 2024, but his legacy lives on in Xztashya's dedication and hard work. She fondly remembers her best experience at FSU, Rodeo Week during her freshman year, where she bonded with her teammates at the carnival. Another cherished memory is when the team stayed at a hotel in Mooresville and spent the evening playing pool and board games in the lobby.
On game days, Xztashya prepares by praying for herself, her teammates, and the game, mentally preparing and relaxing to stay focused. Her favorite sports memory is the team bonding experience in Mooresville, which highlighted the camaraderie and fun that comes with being part of the Broncos softball team.
