CIAA Recognizes Jackson, Heath for Standout Week with Broncos

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) recognized two Fayetteville State softball standouts for Week 10, as Sydney Jackson was named CIAA Offensive Player of the Week and Madison Heath earned CIAA Defensive Player of the Week honors following their standout performances during the Broncos' four‑game week.

Jackson, a junior Nursing major from Cameron, N.C., delivered a dominant week at the plate to lead the Broncos' offense. She headlined the Livingstone doubleheader with a breakout performance in Game 1, going 3-for-3 with seven RBIs, two home runs, and a double while scoring four runs. Jackson followed that effort with another strong showing in the second game of the series, drawing four walks and driving in two additional runs.

Heath, a sophomore Communications & Media Studies major from Decatur, Ga., earned Defensive Player of the Week recognition after providing a steady presence at first base throughout the week. She recorded a combined 17 putouts across the contests and handled every opportunity cleanly, playing a key role in limiting scoring chances and supporting the Broncos' pitching staff with dependable defense.

Fayetteville State returns to action on April 24 with a road doubleheader at Johnson C. Smith in Charlotte, N.C., with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Live stats and stream links will be available at fsubroncos.com/gameday.
