GAME 1 Bluefield 4 - Fayetteville State 2
BLUEFIELD, Va. — A two‑run sixth inning pushed Bluefield past Fayetteville State, 4–2, on Tuesday afternoon at Graham Rec Park.
FSU (13–16) struck first when Treja Patterson opened the game with a solo homer to left. The Broncos regained the lead in the third after Patterson reached on an error and later scored on another defensive miscue, making it 2–1.
Bluefield (8–33) answered in the fourth with an RBI groundout from Jada Jordan to tie the game, then delivered the decisive blow in the sixth. Kenidy Harris doubled to left and scored on Jordan's RBI double to center. Olivia Bailey followed with a run‑scoring single up the middle to extend the Rams' lead to 4–2.
The Broncos threatened in the fifth and seventh innings, putting multiple runners aboard, but Bluefield starter Isabella Smith (6–11) worked out of trouble each time. She held FSU to four hits and two runs — only one earned — in the complete‑game win.
Patterson finished with a home run, a walk, and two runs scored to lead the Broncos' offense. FSU stranded seven runners in the loss.
