Broncos Golf Trio Ready to Shine at Rodeo at the Ridge Tournament

SANFORD, NC -- Fayetteville State University's men's golf team is set to host the Rodeo at the Ridge Tournament at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Sanford, NC, beginning Monday, September 22. The event will feature two rounds of 18 holes on Monday, followed by the final round on Tuesday, September 23. Awards and trophies will be presented by Head Coach Zane Lewis at the conclusion of the tournament.

Season Performance Overview

The Broncos have competed in two major tournaments so far in the 2025–26 season:
  • UC Invitational (Berry Hills CC – Charleston, WV)
Fayetteville State finished 5th overall out of 20 teams, posting rounds of +10, +11, and +17 for a total score of +38. The team showed strong early-round consistency before facing tougher conditions in the final round.
  • Griffin Invitational (CC of Petersburg – Petersburg, VA)
The Broncos placed 11th in a competitive NCAA Division II field, finishing with rounds of +15, +4, and +16 for a total score of +35. The second round was a highlight, demonstrating the team's potential to compete with top-tier programs.
These results reflect a solid foundation and upward trajectory as Fayetteville State prepares to host its home tournament.

Featured Golfers

Sutton Dreier – Steady and Strong

Dreier continues to be a pillar of consistency for the Broncos. He posted a 223 (+7) at the Griffin Invitational and following a 211 (+1) at UC Invitational, highlighted by a first-round 67 (-3). His ability to recover from early setbacks and deliver under pressure makes him a top contender heading into the home tournament.

Allan Terrazas – Building Momentum

Terrazas has shown resilience and growth in recent outings. He carded a 220 (+10) at University of Charleston Invitational, including a composed final round of 72, and a 230 (+14) in Petersburg. His steady improvement and competitive mindset position him as a key contributor for Fayetteville State.

Donald Barnett – A Golfer to Watch

Barnett has emerged as a rising talent for the Broncos. He posted a 225 (+7) in Charleston, WV, including two rounds of 71, and matched that consistency with a 225 (+9) at the Griffin Invitational. Barnett's ability to stay composed and deliver clean rounds—especially his bogey-free back nine in Round 3 in Petersburg—makes him a golfer to watch closely at Quail Ridge.
"Sutton, Allan, and Donald have all shown they can compete at a high level," said Head Coach Zane Lewis. "We're excited to see them lead the team on our home course and showcase the depth of our roster."
