Fayetteville State Volleyball Tops CIAA Preseason Poll;

Three Broncos Named to Preseason All-CIAA Team

Fayetteville, NC — Fayetteville State University's volleyball team is set to begin the 2025 season with momentum and high expectations, earning the top spot in the CIAA Volleyball Preseason Predicted Order of Finish. The Broncos also celebrate three standout athletes named to the 2025 Preseason All-CIAA Volleyball Team, each returning after impressive performances during the 2024 CIAA Runner-up campaign.

Leading the way is Jasmine Culp, selected as the preseason Libero. Culp anchored the Broncos' defense last season, appearing in 74 sets across 21 matches. She recorded 349 digs, averaging 4.72 per set to lead the CIAA, and added 46 service aces—ranking second in the conference and sixth nationally. Her contributions also included 84 assists and 49 total points, earning her CIAA Defensive Player of the Year honors and multiple weekly accolades.

Amihan Johnson, named as a Middle Hitter/Blocker, was a force at the net throughout the 2024 season. She played in 81 sets over 23 matches, tallying 91 kills with a .293 hitting percentage. Johnson contributed 145.5 total points, 12 assists, and 15 service aces, while maintaining efficiency with just 25 attack errors on 225 attempts. Her defensive impact earned her CIAA Defensive Player of the Week recognition in Week 4.

At the helm of the Broncos' offense is Chiara Vittoni, selected as the preseason Setter. Vittoni played in 82 sets across 23 matches, dishing out 416 assists at a rate of 5.07 per set. She also showcased her versatility with 196 kills, 44 service aces, and 210 digs (2.56 per set), while contributing 26 blocks and 257 total points. Her dynamic play earned her CIAA Offensive Player of the Week in Week 1 and Setter of the Week in Week 11.

"We're proud of Jasmine, Amihan, and Chiara for earning these well-deserved preseason honors," said Head Coach Chynna Hunt. "Their hard work and leadership set the tone for our team, and we're excited to compete at a high level this season."
CIAA Predicted Order
The CIAA Preseason Poll, voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors, projects Fayetteville State to finish first among the 12-member conference. The full predicted order of finish is as follows:
