PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC - The Fayetteville State gold team finished 9th at the Pawley's Island Beach Bash, hosted by Ohio Dominican on March 12-13 with a total score of 627 (317, 310). Wayne State (MI) won the event with a total score of 588 (289, 299), narrowly edging out USC Beaufort, who finished with 589 (291, 298). Gannon secured third place with a score of 590 (294, 296). The tournament took place at The Founders Club at Pawleys Island in South Carolina, providing a picturesque backdrop for the competition.
Fayetteville State's leading golfer, Juan Lopez, showcased his skills over the two rounds. Lopez is a redshirt senior business administration major from Madrid Spain. In Round 1, Lopez scored 76 (+4), with birdies on holes 1 and 13 and an eagle on hole 6. He continued his steady performance in Round 2, scoring 78 (+6) and achieving birdies on holes 6, 8, and 12.
