Vittoni, Culp, and Teixeira Named CIAA Players of the Week for Week #7

Charlotte, NC - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) named Fayetteville State volleyball players, Chiara Vittoni, Jasmine Culp, and Giovanna Teixeira as the week #7 CIAA Volleyball Offensive Player, Defensive Player, and Setter of the Week, respectively.

Chiara Vittoni, a senior accounting major from Brescia, Italy, delivered a dominant week at the net, helping the Broncos to a perfect 3–0 record with wins over Johnson C. Smith, Virginia State, and Bluefield State. Vittoni totaled 38 kills across three matches, highlighted by a 20-kill performance in a five-set thriller against Virginia State. She added 21.0 points to lead all scorers. Earlier in the week, she posted six kills in a sweep of Johnson C. Smith, and capped the weekend with 12 kills on just 18 attempts (.611) in a straight-set win over Bluefield State. Over the three matches, Vittoni also contributed three service aces, nine digs, and two total blocks. She also leads the conference in kills per set.

Jasmine Culp, a senior accounting major from Clayton, NC, continued to anchor the Broncos' back row with a series of standout defensive performances that helped lead her team to three wins this week. Culp totaled 46 digs across three matches, including a match-high 18 digs in a five-set victory over Virginia State and 13 digs in a sweep of Bluefield State. She also added 15 digs in a three-set win over Johnson C. Smith to open the week. In addition to her defensive work, Culp contributed three assists and two service aces.

Giovanna Teixeira, a junior psychology major from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, helped guide the Broncos to three victories with her consistent and high-level playmaking. Teixeira totaled 82 assists across three matches, including a season-high 44 assists in a five-set win over Virginia State. She added 25 assists in a sweep of Bluefield State and opened the week with 13 assists in a three-set win over Johnson C. Smith. In addition to her setting duties, Teixeira contributed offensively and defensively. She recorded three service aces, 25 digs, and four total blocks over the week. She also leads the conference in assists per set.
