The Bulldogs, led by MVP Calil Wilkins who rushed for 163 yards, took an early 14-0 lead. Their defense, highlighted by Myles Wolfork's 11 tackles and a crucial forced fumble, held strong, stopping key plays by Fayetteville State. Despite a strong defense from the Broncos, Bowie State's early offensive push and solid defensive plays ensured their victory, improving their record to 10-1 and solidifying their No. 2 ranking in Super Region Two.

The Bowie State Bulldogs lost 28-14 to the Winston-Salem State Rams at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday. The Rams, now 4-1 overall and 2-0 in CIAA play, overcame an early 7-0 deficit to lead 28-7 before Bowie State scored again. Curtis Murray led BSU's ground attack with 41 yards, while Sam Doku added 35 yards and a touchdown. Joshua Thurston caught six passes for 53 yards. Defensively, Jordan Williams had eight tackles, and Sadiq Salawu added seven. Despite holding WSSU to 345 total yards, BSU was out-gained 345-228 and converted only 4 of 13 third downs.
 
Also on September 28, Fayetteville State lost 35-18 to Virginia State at Rogers Stadium. Despite an early lead from a 19-yard touchdown pass by Joe Owens Jr., the Broncos couldn't maintain their momentum. Virginia State's Romelo Williams threw four touchdown passes, including three to Kevin Gayles, who had 149 receiving yards. The Trojans led 21-10 at halftime and extended their lead in the second half. Fayetteville State's defense, led by Malik Head with seven tackles, struggled to contain VSU's offense. Senior running back Curtis Murray is a standout Bulldogs player to watch due to his impressive rushing stats.
