FAYETTEVILLE, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team racked up 12 blocks on the way to a three-set win (25-14, 25-17, 25-19) over the Livingstone Blue Bears Thursday at home at Felton J Capel Arena.
The conference win improved Fayetteville State's record to 7-1 overall, 3-1 in CIAA play, and 3-1 in the Southern division. Livingston fell to 5-3 overall. 1-1 in the conference, and 1-1 in the Southern division.
Jourdan Page finished with 15 kills on the day to lead the Broncos offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .258. Allinson Torres also pitched in with six in the contest. The Broncos got 11 digs from Jasmine Culp along with five blocks from Amihan Johnson to lead them defensively.
In their impressive win, Allinson Torres stood out with a match-high six aces. The Fayetteville State front row excelled defensively, accumulating 12 blocks. The team never trailed in the first two sets, winning them 25-14 and 25-17, respectively. They also served up five aces in the second set. Jourdan Page led the offense with a match-high 15 kills, while Jasmine Culp contributed a match-high 11 digs. Additionally, Chayse Daniels provided a match-high 13 assists, helping the attackers throughout the match.

They showcased a strong offensive performance with three aces and solid defense, blocking five Livingstone attacks. In the second set, the Broncos continued their dominance, securing a 25-17 victory without ever trailing. They opened up a significant 10-point lead at one point, bolstered by five aces. The third set was more competitive, featuring four lead changes, but Fayetteville State took control at 14-13 and finished the set 25-19. Their offense was again boosted by three aces, and their front row blocked five more attacks to seal the match.
