DURHAM, N.C. (May 4, 2024) – Fayetteville State University's Women captured their third consecutive Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday in Durham, NC.
 
The FSU Broncos led both days of the two-day event, collecting 174 points for the title over Runner-Up Winston-Salem State University (106), and Saint Augustine's University (79.5).
 
Head Coach 
Inez Turner of Fayetteville State was named CIAA Women's Coach of the Year.
 
FSU's 
M'Smrya Seward captured the Women's Field MVP award by contributing 30 points with first-place wins in the long, triple, and high jump events. 
 
In addition to the sweep in jump events by Seward; 
Domanique Knowles and 
Tiara Wilson placed second in the high jump and triple jump, respectively. 
Ashley Taylor finished second in the shot-put and discus throw.
 
Irene Jeptoo took first in the 3000m while teammate 
Daisy Jerop won third. Jeptoo also placed second in the 1500m, with 
Nia Gibson in third and 
Repline Cheptoo in fourth. 
Viola Korir won the 800m and Gibson came in fourth.
 
Janya Moore won third place in the 400m and was the first leg in the first place 4x400m relay. Other relay members were Korir, 
Abraonna Williams, and 
Ashley Bell.
