WARREN, OH – The Fayetteville State University golf team wrapped up their 2023 NCAA DII National Championship experience with a three-round total of 934. The Broncos finished 20th overall after rounds of 312, 314, and 308. Freshman Jack McCarthy led FSU with a 225 (+9) scorecard.
McCarthy (Winston-Salem, NC) opened the tournament with a 79 card but improved by five strokes in his second round with 74 strokes. He finished the final round at even-par (72). He ranked tied at 64th out of a total of 108 golfers.
Caden Hodges (Freshman - Dunn, NC), who was recently named to the Golf Association of America Division II All-Freshman Team, finished tied at 69th with rounds of 77, 77, and 72 for a total score of 226 (+10). Brandon Jones (Senior – Sanford, NC) carded a 240 (+24) with rounds of 79, 79, and 82. Zack Martin (Senior – Sanford, NC) was 105th with +35 (251; 81, 84, and 86). Juan Lopez (Sophomore – Madrid Spain) completed two of the three rounds with a +10 card (159; 77, D, and 82).
