GAME 2 | Fayetteville State 26, Saint Augustine's 0

RALEIGH, NC --Braynka Brown and Hannah Mills combined to toss a shutout on Sunday as the Fayetteville State Broncos blanked the Saint Augustine's Falcons 26-0 in game two of the CIAA doubleheader.

Brown (2-6) started and picked up the win for Fayetteville State (14-15, 9-3 CIAA), going three shutout innings without giving up a hit. Mills was dealing out of the bullpen as well, going two shutout innings, allowing two hits, walking none and striking out three. St. Augustine's is now 3-21 NS 1-15 in the conference.

Makyiah Mitchell led the way offensively for the Broncos, going 5-for-5 in the ballgame with a home run, a walk and six RBI. DeMya Smith provided a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, two walks and five RBI. Angelica Locklear also helped out, going 4-for-5 for Fayetteville State with two doubles and four RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Broncos took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Fayetteville State's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a two-run single off the bat of Treja Patterson.

The Broncos then tacked on runs in four more innings, with their biggest output coming in the second when they scored 10 times. The big hits in that inning were a two-run double off the bat of Locklear and a two-run single from Smith.
