TIP OFF: The Broncos play the final game of the regular season, hosting the St. Augustine's Falcons on Senior Day. FSU has won five straight games against St. Augustine's, topping the Falcons 71-61 on the road in the last meeting on 1/28. The Broncos are currently seeded as the top team in the CIAA Southern Division and are 7-3 inside of Capel Arena this year. A win in this game will secure the Southern Division championship for FSU.
SLIM MARGINS: FSU has made a habit of playing close games this season, with six total conference games being decided within one possession. A defining part of the season has been when the Broncos played a stretch of four straight one-possession conference games between Jan 14-26 and came away 3-1 over that period. In total, 10 of FSU's 27 games have been decided by three points or fewer, going 6-4 in those games.
DEFENSIVE IDENTITY: The Broncos enter Saturday with the second-best scoring defense in the conference, allowing just 62.3 PPG to opponents. A strong defensive style of play has helped balance out the Broncos' offense which is scoring 63.2 PPG, the second-lowest rate in the league. Head Coach
Luke D'Alessio's teams have historically won with defense. The Broncos allowed the fewest PPG to opponents (61.0) last season en route to their second conference championship in school history.
FEAR FOSTER: Tyler Foster has established himself as a key starter for FSU in his first season with the program, leading the team in PPG (14.0) and 3PT % (43.7). The Youngstown State transfer has scored in double-figures in 16 of his last 17 games and has four games of at least 20 points this season.
COLEMAN IN THE MIDDLE: Lipscomb transfer Kalem Coleman has been a steady part of the Broncos front court all season long. He was second in scoring with 16 points in the Broncos' recent road win over Claflin and is second on the team in rebounds per game at 5.2. He is also a dependable big-man at the free throw line, leading FSU at 74.1%.
