BLUEFIELD, WV --The Fayetteville State volleyball team needed just four sets (25-19, 26-24, 24-26, 25-22, 25-22) to defeat the Bluefield State Lady Blues Tuesday on the road at Ned Shott Gymnasium.
The out-of-conference win improved Fayetteville State's overall record to 19-12 on the season.
The Broncos offense was paced by Casandra Watson, who finished with 12 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .32, and by A'Lexus Everett, who had 11 while hitting .308. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Jordan Johnson had 12 and Alexia Bryant had 11.

SET 2 | Fayetteville State built on a set-one win by securing a 26-24 victory in set two. The Broncos came out on top of a close second set, winning in a stanza that was tied seven times and had two lead changes.
SET 3 | Fayetteville State saw its bid for a 3-0 sweep end when Bluefield State took the third set. The Broncos fell in a close set, losing 26-24 in a stanza that was tied six times and had three lead changes.
SET 4 | Fayetteville State then responded to finish off the match with a 25-22 set-four victory. The Broncos persevered in a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied 12 times. Neither team was able to grab a lead larger than three points along the way.
The Broncos advance to the semi-finals where they will play Shaw on November 18 at 2 pm in Bowie, MD.
